At Home Art Lessons For Kids
As the coronavirus pandemic forces schools and childcare centers to shut down, we at Kidcreate want to remind parents of the benefit of art education. Creativity and imagination are particularly important in times of stress as it brings children joy. Although you may not be able to get your kids to school or their favorite Kidcreate class, you can still practice art at home!
You don't have to be a natural artist to create some fun creative lessons for your children. Even if you feel inept when it comes to using your imagination, all you need are a few art supplies. Grab your children, some colored pencils and a few coloring books and pass away the afternoon teaching them how to color in the lines or create different shades of the same color. Check out these tips for more creative inspiration:
- Have any famous artworks hanging on your walls? Ask your kids to paint or draw up their best imitation!
- Do a google search for "Starry Night" or other art classics for a lesson in art history and then ask your kids to create their own masterpieces
- Search for free online drawing lessons and join your kids in drawing their favorite animals or characters
